Wi-fi, marriages proposals, wedding ceremonies and now movie premieres.
Airlines are continuously trying to find new ways to outdo each other when it comes to inflight entertainment, and Qantas’ new venture is likely to takeout the competition.
This week the airline signed a new agreement with Disney Studios to premiere a new family movie ‘Planes’ at 30,000 ft.
The 3D animation of a crop duster’s dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer, will feature on the airline’s Boeing 767 aircraft on 7 September 2013.
In addition to hosting the movie premiere, Qantas has agreed to paint the 254-passenger plane in the ‘Planes’ livery to support the film.
The Walt Disney Company in Australia managing director John Cracknell said the two groups are offering a “unique premiere”.
“We are thrilled to have Qantas as our official co-pilot for ‘Planes’ in Australia and for the best family entertainment in the skies,” Mr Cracknell explained.
